Hi there! Welcome to the place where I write about stunning weddings, beautiful families, and my own journey. So glad you're here!

Hi, I'm Sherah!

Dan + Angi | Edgewood Valley Country Club

Aug 4, 2017

Do you remember Dan and Angi? Angi is successful, driven, fashionable, beautiful, and Dan is her relaxed, funny, easygoing, gentle counterpart. They had a fantastic wedding party: twenty-two of their closest family and friends — such a great group of people, supporting and helping them as they begin their new life together.

Angi was so thoughtful and detailed throughout their wedding planning process, and I watched Dan go all-in with his bride-to-be. DIY succulents? Done. Carefully mapping out the reception seating? Dan and Angi had their coordinator amazed at their perfect, to-scale chart (trust me, it’s hard to impress a wedding coordinator). And just after their ceremony ended, at probably the most chaotic time of the day, when we had less than 10 minutes to take formal photos of 100 people because of a last-minute location change, I watched these two look each other in the eye, take a deep breath, smile, and say, “…Let’s go!” They rocked their wedding day, and it was fun to be along for the ride.

Eric and Sabriah Floberg were there, capturing the day on film so incredibly — one of my favorite moments of the night was seeing Eric and Marty up on chairs in the middle of the dance floor with their cameras, with everyone going crazy. Check out the last two pictures of this post for Marty’s perspective on that one!

Here’s a funny story:

The entire week before Dan and Angi’s wedding, the weather forecast was calling for some serious rain on their wedding day. It was Thursday, and Saturday’s forecast said Severe Thunderstorms,  Chance of Rain 90%, End of the World Monsoon, a bunch of nonsense like that. So, naturally… we went online and bought fifteen big, beautiful, huge white umbrellas. We had the umbrellas overnighted, and they showed up at my door on Friday morning.

Then, I went to check the weather report.

Abundant Sunshine. Chance of Rain 0%.

Needless to say, Dan and Angi’s wedding day had the most incredible, abundant, sunniest sunshine. (Thank you WeatherChannel.com, for your commitment to accuracy through and through, even at the last second possible. We wouldn’t have fifteen gorgeous umbrellas if it wasn’t for you.)
